Surah Al Insan

“And when thou lookest, it is there thou wilt see a Bliss and a Realm Magnificent.”

76:20

Surah Insan delivers a short statement of what awaits the believers and the unbelievers. It outlines detailed scenes of the comforts and bliss that await God’s servants. Allah created man, provided him with guidance and let him use his free will; either to believe or disbelieve. He gradually sent the Quran according to the issues faced by mankind and it served as an admonition for those who want to adopt the way of God.

“Upon them will be green Garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, and they will be adorned with Bracelets of silver (gold)”.

76:21

Subtle metallic hues of gold, rose gold, pink and green all come together harmoniously to create the effect of songket ( traditional brocade of the Malay archipelago).

Songket is a richly decorated fabric that is a popular luxury textile amongst nobilities. Typically worn during ceremonial occasions in royal courts and palaces, songket is often intricately patterned using coloured silk and gold and silver threads. As of 2021, UNESCO officially recognised Songket Malaysia as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Tangible Heritage of Humanity.

“And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and goblets of crystal”.
